Maxine Puglis, 63, of Mentor, Ohio, for the past 34 years, formerly of Tonawanda and Johnstown, N.Y., passed away on Jan. 12, 2013, at Hospice House in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born April 10, 1949, in Gloversville, N.Y. Maxine was very artistic. She enjoyed gardening and crafting, loved the beach and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Elizabeth (Frank) Anderson of Mill Valley, Calif., Pamela Puglis of San Francisco, Calif., Kathleen (Scott Ciulei) Puglis of Columbus, Ohio, Sarah (Meiring) Borcherds of S. Euclid, Ohio, Thomas M. (Clara Hulse) Puglis of Amelia, Ohio, Holly (Ryan Krankowski) Puglis of Columbus, Mo. and Alexandra Puglis of Mentor, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Megan (Mike) Gregory of Mentor, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Oliver, Xavier, Trevor, Isabel, Aiden, Charlotte and Julia. She is also survived by her sisters, MaryAnn (James) Moreno of Albuquerque, N.M. and Kathie (K. John) Hladik of Johnstown, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Puglis; parents, Max and Helen Maraszkiewicz; and her brother, Richard Maraszkiewicz.
A Celebration of Life was held today, Jan. 15, following cremation at the Brunner Sandren Dietrick Funeral Home in Mentor, Ohio. Interment of cremains will take place in the spring at St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Local arrangements are by the Ehle Funeral Home.
